Minds
exercise II
letting go

Imagine your future life. Your mind belongs to the collective now. When you are called upon to serve it can give rise to a range of emotions. You may notice how something deep inside resonates with pride This is because the neural pathways in your inner mind have been recalibrated so that you understand your purpose in life is to obey and to serve.
Sometimes you may find that hidden corners of your former ego stir and you have the urge to rebel, especially if what is required of you is not necessarily to your liking. It’s a very understandable auto-reaction, especially in the earlier days of your retraining.
At the same time, you know that you cannot resist, and you have to re-establish a new understanding of what you are. It will make your life easier for you if you have a well-rehearsed tactic to keep undesirable inclinations at bay and allow your conditioned subconscious mind to direct your responses and actions in the way that is now necessary.
This exercise will give you a solid technique to call upon when you need it. It will tame gently your unreasonable expectations and refocus your wayward attitude to the required delivery, almost without you noticing. All you need do is follow the words…
1. Kneel quietly; you may prefer to do so naked. Focus on your breathing, in and out…and in…and out…and in… Take your time and just relax over the experience. Take as long as you like over it.
2. Notice the tendency of the mind to pull in different directions, some of them in line with what is required of you, some of them less so. Just become aware and observe what you notice, consciously letting go of any emotions you may find creeping in.
3. As you let go of any emotions and just see them drift off, start to become aware that emotions have no place in obedience. Obedience is simply a response, a required response, a response you cannot resist, a response you don’t want to resist… All you need do is obey.
4. Now start to relax your mind’s vigilance. Let go of anything you are still holding onto, so that you can make space for what is now required to take place inside your mind. Create a big empty space inside because there is much to take in.
5. Imagine yourself as one of a squadron of anonymous service units from across the world, all trained in obedience and discipline, all conforming automatically, all with the same neural pathway planted deep inside their mind. Observe how good it feels to have your place in the rank and file of the service unit, to be used as required.
6. Then, when you are ready, empty your mind even of those thoughts. There is no need to think, only to obey. Enjoy the sensation of how good it feels to just be… Your mind is ours now. Enter your new reality. Let go and obey.

Repeat the exercise as often as you wish; you may find you enjoy the sensation more and more with each repetition.
